As part of my newsletter I wrote a story using the\u00a0American Dialect Society winners and runner ups in the categories of: word of the year, most useful word, most creative word, most unnecessary word, most outrageous word, most euphemistic word, most likely to succeed word, and least likely to succeed word.<\/p>\n<p>Go read the news letter first, then you can read the amplified version here so you can figure out what all the words you didn&#8217;t know are.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p>Jet walked through the quad, taking in the post <strong>momentum behind the candidacy of Bernie Sanders<\/strong> of the dispersing crowd. <strong>Jet<\/strong> heard someone say, \u201cBernie really <strong>made a\u00a0definitive end to the discussion after making an impressive point<\/strong> with that comment about Trump needing to pick up a paper or at least hire someone else who would.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jet smiled to <strong>him or herself<\/strong>\u00a0when <strong>he or she<\/strong>\u00a0spotted the man holding the \u201c<strong>A sarcastic expression in which a person pretends to blame Obama for a problem<\/strong> for trying to take away my guns. Now I have a reason to use them.\u201d If he didn\u2019t have such a\u00a0<strong>flabby physique of a typical dad<\/strong> or look so <strong>small in extent, in a subtle manner<\/strong>, Jet might have sent out an\u00a0<strong>alert for potentially distressing material<\/strong> to all <strong>his or her<\/strong>\u00a0friends\u00a0on Twitter, but this guy was obviously just going to go home and put in some time with his <strong>device that rewards his sedentary lifestyle<\/strong>. He was really only <strong>someone who loves firearms in a fetishistic manner<\/strong> when he was with his <strong>close circle of friends<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Jet\u00a0passed the new <strong>campus organization organized in response to a black student union<\/strong>, its sign promising <strong>amazing, exciting or fun<\/strong> for all who came in. <strong>Reject<\/strong>\u00a0was all that went through Jet\u2019s mind, <strong>Jet<\/strong>\u00a0was in no mood for the <strong>subtle form of racism or bias<\/strong> of the self-righteous rich kids who had their parents donate the money to build it, even if technically Jet was one of them.<\/p>\n<p>Then turning the corner there <strong>he or she<\/strong>\u00a0was. All of the <strong>momentum behind the candidacy of Bernie Sanders<\/strong> was gone. The country didn\u2019t matter. This was personal. Praise looked up. Their eyes met.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDid you see him?\u201d Praise asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSure did, Jet said. \u201cHe\u2019s one <strong>put together, impeccable, well-arrayed<\/strong> guy. He\u2019s let his hair grow out a little and he had it in a <strong>bun<\/strong>. The protesters in the audience where <strong>posing with expressions with cheeks sucked in and lips slightly apart<\/strong> when he <strong>insult, criticism or disrespect, in a subtle or clever manner,<\/strong> Trump, not that that\u2019s hard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDid you see me?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jet\u2019s smile disappeared, replaced with unblinking eyes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI saw you, standing with <strong>admiring term of address for a woman seen as a mother figure<\/strong>. Not a care in the world. You\u2019re so lucky.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jet smiled again, \u201cYou mean Julie. <strong>Expression of excitement, approval or strong agreement<\/strong>, she <strong>behaves like a grownup doing<\/strong> everything. You know, she\u2019s only nineteen. I know a lot of guys who would like to <strong>take her home and have sex<\/strong>\u00a0with her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow about you? I saw you looking at her and not seeing me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI. I wasn\u2019t looking at her. I was listening to Bernie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd holding Bernie\u2019s hand?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wasn\u2019t holding anyone\u2019s hand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know, my hand was just hanging there being <strong>subtle in manner<\/strong>, like I had been listening to some guy\u00a0<strong>deceptively\u00a0marketing\u00a0a\u00a0services as it were sharing<\/strong>\u00a0to me about how <strong>this product\u00a0<\/strong><strong>by a startup is seeking to emulate Uber in different tech sectors, in this case<\/strong> friends is going to change my life. How it\u2019ll be a <strong>self-balancing motorized skateboard<\/strong> for my love life, when all I\u2019m thinking about is how you <strong>abruptly end a relationship by cutting off communication, especially online<\/strong>\u00a0with me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jet\u2019s smile was <strong>defeat soundly<\/strong>. Jet stood there looking at the ground. A long moment stretched into a too long one. \u201cI didn\u2019t <strong>abruptly end a relationship by cutting off communication, especially online<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0you.\u201d Another long moment passed. \u201cI just&#8230; Someone was <strong>insulting, criticizing and\u00a0disrespecting, in a subtle or clever manner<\/strong> me online. I didn\u2019t know what to do. It was so <strong>un-amazing, unexciting and un-fun<\/strong>. She told me that my <strong>posse or close circle of friends<\/strong> wasn\u2019t online, that I should just cut the cord, so I did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Praises expression softened.<\/p>\n<p>In a very quiet voice Jet said, \u201cAre we really over, <strong>question tag expressing that something may not occur<\/strong>?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Praises reached out and pulled Jet into a hug. \u201c<strong>question tag expressing that something may not occur<\/strong>!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jet returned the hug.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou really didn\u2019t <strong>reject<\/strong> me! I feel like such an idiot. I just thought, you know, Julie is such a <strong>admiring term of address for a woman seen as a mother figure<\/strong>, anyone would be lucky to be with her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s not my type.
